Parrots and other small birds can learn the complexities of shapes through some of the building toys that are available. The toys use geometric shapes that are commonly made of a nontoxic plastic material and a pole is also included. The bird can organize the toys by placing them onto the pole and ordering them in different ways. Some birds are quite intelligent and can identify simple items, colored pieces of material are often included, but the overarching method is simple to let the birds play with the toys as they see fit. Building toys or constructing the monolith of the toys that they have been given is a frequent past time for caged birds as them associate with whatever is around them.
Another form of building toys for birds comes in the form of a colorful abacus. These toys hang from two strings at the top of the bird’s cage. The bird can sit on a perch and rotation the pieces horizontally to reveal different images, colors, and letters on each of the rows of wooden toys. It is configured in a square format and colored with the primary colors. It is relatively cheap because it is simply multicolored wood, but your bird will enjoy moving the blocks around in each of the columns to create different patterns.
