Pet Toys

A common bond of friendship and loyalty is built out of the relationship between pet owner and pet. A common ritual is the feeding ritual where the owner provides the pet with the necessary nutrition. Just as common are the various games that you teach your pet. From sit for a dog, to speak for a parrot, to just hanging out with your cat. These activities comprise the fundamentals of the relationship with the animal kingdom. It should come as no surprise then that the market for pet toys has dramatically risen in league with pet ownership.

For the avian kingdom the number of pet toys is pretty large, but they generally fall into some specific archetypes. The first is the perch. Birds love having a place to hang out and connect dominance with higher perches, this can be problematic if you have especially territorial birds around one another, but less of a deal for solo birds. Bird ropes can connect areas of the cage of different levels easily. Feeding baskets, bowls, and water containers are all specific areas of customization that set apart one cage from another. There are also chords and ropes that are meant to be chewed on by the bird. Certain shell and concrete configurations are essential for personal grooming of the birds beak and claws. Lastly there are intentionally destructible toys that are similar to dog bones. For birds these are referred to as birdie bagels and are typically made of edible plastics or paper Mache to give the bird layers to tear through. Regardless of the specific design there are an abundance of pet toys available.
